NEUROPSYCHOLOGIST

Dr. Megie Shean is a licensed clinical psychologist who specializes in neuropsychological assessment, cognitive rehabilitation, sleep and insomnia treatment, and psychotherapy. She also holds a psychologist II/neuropsychologist position at UCLA’s Operation Mend program, serving post-9/11 active-duty service members and veterans affected by traumatic brain injury and post-traumatic stress disorder.

Dr. Shean works collaboratively with her clients, using a strengths-based and holistic approach. She has expertise in the neuropsychological and psychodiagnostic evaluation of a variety of medical and psychiatric conditions, as well as in targeted cognitive rehabilitation following evaluation. Her approach to neuropsychological evaluation and cognitive rehabilitation is useful for those with cognitive deficits as well as those who want to learn how to increase productivity, learn how their minds work, and live life according to their values. She is skilled in providing evidence-based psychotherapies such as cognitive processing therapy and cognitive behavioral therapy to treat comorbid diagnoses (e.g., depression, generalized anxiety, and PTSD). 

Dr. Shean earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from the University of Colorado, Boulder where she conducted research in the exercise cognition lab. She served as a social worker for three years following graduation, gaining hands-on experience working with clients and coordinating their care. Dr. Shean obtained her Master’s and Doctoral Degrees from Pacific University in Oregon in the neuropsychology track with a focus on multicultural assessment, and she performed research in the Stress, Cognition, Affect, and Neuroimaging (SCAN) Lab at Oregon Health and Science University. She completed her internship at Vanderbilt University and the Tennessee Valley VA, where she focused on medically and psychologically complex cases. Dr. Shean received her clinical fellowship training at UCLA in the clinical neuropsychology of trauma and resilience track.

At The Integrated Clinic, Dr. Shean provides neuropsychological evaluation, cognitive rehabilitation, sleep and behavioral medicine, and psychotherapy to those across the lifespan.
