Grace Cruz, EDM

Educational specialist

Leveraging her 20+ years in the educational sector, which spans from the bustling classrooms of New York and San Francisco to the vibrant educational communities of Mexico City, Honolulu, and Los Angeles, Grace brings a wealth of practical experience and insightful knowledge to her role as an Educational Specialist. Her background, encompassing roles as both a teacher and school administrator in independent and public schools, underpins her comprehensive understanding of the educational landscape. It enables her to craft personalized and effective strategies that address the nuanced needs of middle and high school students.

Grace discovered her passion for teaching and her love of history while volunteering for community service in college. This initial spark led her to pursue a Bachelor’s Degree in History and a Master’s Degree in Education from NYU, further solidifying her commitment to education. Her academic credentials are complemented by a certification in School Leadership and Administration from Johns Hopkins University, with a focus on Information Technology.

While in Los Angeles, she embraced the opportunity to serve as a teacher and school leader, directly connecting academic learning to career pathways in fields such as healthcare and technology. Her tenure as the founding head of Portal Schools (now Portal Learning) was marked by the successful management of personalized learning plans and the establishment of valuable partnerships with colleges and corporations, enriching the educational experience with practical, real-world applications.

Currently, she serves as a leadership coach to school principals in critical areas such as instruction, curricular design, and community engagement. Her involvement as a board member with Public Matters, an interviewer for the Gates Scholarship, and a mentor with Statement Arts, exemplifies her commitment to enriching the educational community and supporting student success.

Incorporating her years of experience, she approaches educational therapy with a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities within education. Her methods are not only rooted in evidence-based research but are also informed by her hands-on experience in diverse educational settings, ensuring that her support is both empathetic and effective. Through her dedicated efforts, she empowers students to overcome obstacles, embrace their learning journey, and achieve their highest potential.

Grace lives with her partner and two handsome cats in Santa Monica. She enjoys traveling, cooking and spending time with her large extended family.

At The Integrated Clinic, Grace provides educational therapy services.
